Crunchy, sweet and deep green, this variety is a cross between a Cos and an Iceberg type producing the dark green upright shape of a cos lettuce with the thick crisp crunch of an iceberg type.

Boasting an impressive 400-450g head, 'Sweet Success' is disease resistant to powdery Mildew. Low in calories and contains vitamins including calcium, iron, potassium, vitamin C, folate.

How to Guide

Sow indoors

January-April: Sow thinly 1cm (½in) deep in clean trays or modules of firm pre-watered compost. Place in warmth 10-18°C (65-70°F) and keep moist at all time.

 

Sow outdoors

May-August: Sow thinly 1cm (½in) deep. Keep soil moist at all times.

 

Plant out

April - June (when plants have 3-4 true leaves) 30cm (12in) apart with 30cm (12in) between each row.

 

Tips

Keep well watered. Use thinnings as baby leaf.Small sowings made every 3 weeks ensures a continuous supply.
