Description

Mondeo produces high-quality spears with handsome-purple tips. Spears appear in big numbers on fully hardy plants. Tasty when steamed and covered with a little butter.

Being a male hybrid Mondeo produces spears an inch thick with tight tips so you get good substantial spears with a meaty bite.

Great disease-resistance to rust and produces plants with attractive, tall ferny growth. We recommend you allow your crowns to develop for three years before harvesting.

From five crowns you can expect around 100 spears every year. You can pick a small amount of Mondeo if you can’t wait to harvest in the first or second year, but patience pays dividends in the end.
