- Berries stay fresh for longer after picking
- Neat upright stems
- Flowers after the late-frost season
Enjoy the numerous blueberries that form in large numbers on high bushes. Bell-flowers form all around your plant in early summer after the danger of late frosts are over so you are guaranteed fruit from healthy, unimpeded flowers.
In a few years your Duke plants can produce up to 9kg (20lbs) on every bush, so you soon make your money back on these excellent value bushes which give you delicious bushes every year.
We recommend that you plant multiple blueberry bushes together. The cumulative flower power of all the bushes together will attract more pollinating insects and quicker fruit set from flowering. Plant bushes 2m (6 ½ ft) in all directions to allow the plants the space they need to thrive.
Add ericaceous soil to the ground if you are growing Duke in a bed. Blueberry Duke appreciates the low Ph which facilitates the plants healthy uptake of iron and boosts the plant’s flowering power. Dig a full 25 litre bag around the whole area at planting time.
How your plants arrive:
Your blueberry plant is sent to you in a 1 litre pot for instant impact in your kitchen garden. We recommend that you get your plant in a cool, and light position (but away from direct sun) and keep the soil well-watered but not waterlogged. Aim to plant within 10 days from delivery.
