Cabbage ‘Duncan’ is a fast-growing variety, producing compact pointed heads of crisp leaves with a sweet nutty flavour. This versatile vegetable is perfect for growing in small spaces. Seedlings planted in spring will be ready to harvest in summer. Seedlings planted in late summer or early autumn can be harvested the following spring as spring greens (the looser leaves that appear before a solid head develops) or left to develop into maincrop cabbages.

How you will receive your plants:

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your super seedlings in plug trays in a box. These are designed to keep your plants secure and to prevent damage in transit. Super seedling plugs can be planted out straight away without potting on.

Can’t plant straight away?

If you aren't able to plant your seedlings out straight away then ensure they stay moist. You can place your plugs on a saucer or tray of shallow water so they are able to stay hydrated. Aim to have your plugs planted within 3 days.

Planting and aftercare

Space 45cm (18in) apart with 45cm (18in) between rows. Water the seedlings well before planting. Dig a hole, place a seedling in the hole with its lower leaves at ground level and ‘puddle’ it in by filling the hole with water several times before adding soil back in. Cover the plants with netting to protect the plants from cabbage white butterfly. Water regularly in dry periods.
