These Kent & Stowe Traditional Bypass Secateurs are perfect for garden tasks including deadheading, cutting and pruning. They're suitable for cutting delicate stems and shoots down as well as general pruning of green live wood, roses and shrubs. Cut close to the base of the stem or root for a clean, sharp cut.
To keep the blades in a good condition wipe them with an oiled cloth after each use.
Bypass secateurs are not ideal for dead wood as this will blunt the blades. These secateurs feature 2 sharpened blades that pass over each other to make a clean and precise healthy cut, like a pair of scissors.
All Kent & Stowe cutting tools come with a 5-year guarantee
How To Care For Your Secateurs
Taking care of secateurs means they will continue to perform at their peak. We recommend that you don't leave your secateurs outside when not in use. Wipe them after use, and allow them to completely dry. Store them away in a dry environment, such as your greenhouse, shed or garage. Even in dry weather conditions your tools, if left outside, are exposed to moisture from wet grass and dew.
For all wood handled tools such as these secateurs you can even apply a light coating of boiled linseed oil to help prevent the wood from drying out and cracking. If the wooden handle is very dirty, remove as much of the soil as possible. If you need to use water, gently wet the handle with a damp cloth, making sure that you don’t soak the wood, as this may cause the grain to lift and the handle to swell.
