Flowering
Nicotiana Lime Green is a tall annual with clusters of lime-green trumpet-shaped flowers that add a fresh note to almost any planting colour scheme. Their delectable scent is most noticeable in the evenings, attracting moths. This long-flowering annual is ideal for cutting.
Sow indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 15-20°C and keep moist.
Grow on
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart to trays of potting compost or singly into small pots.
Plant out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out 30cm apart when risk of frost has passed. Best planted near doorways or patios to make the most of the summer evening fragrance.
How to grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
