Description
- Space-saving cordon type tomatoes
- Summer-long harvests
- Every tomato–bursting with flavour
Hanker after sweet and immune-boosting cherry tomatoes all summer but don’t want to pay the price of expensive punnets from the supermarket – simple, just grow cherry tomato Sweet Million on your own plot.
Enjoy harvests from generously fruiting stems. If growing indoors in the greenhouse keep vents or windows slightly open so that flies and bees have access to tomato flowers that they pollinate for successful fruit.
As cordons your plants grow like skyscrapers to the ceiling which means they save on space, taking up room vertically rather than spreading. In an average-sized glasshouse of 3 metres (10 ft) in length, place up to six tomato Sweet Million plants growing up either side.
Even if you don’t have your own greenhouse Sweet Million grows happily in pots supported by central wigwams outside on a sunny patio. We suggest you pinch off the little stems that grow in the crotches of the main stem and side branches. This promotes better-furnished fruiting stems from the rest of your plants.
When you receive your tomato plants by post, water lightly, then plant them up in small pots. If the stem tip is bent, rest assured, it will quickly right itself when exposed to daylight to grow straight and upright.
