Description
- Fragrant white flowers in summer
- Evergreen climber
- Ideal for a sheltered sunny wall
Trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine) is an evergreen climber with woody stems that will twine around wire supports with a little training. Clusters of starry white flowers appear in summer, with a heady fragrance that is most noticeable in the evenings.
In mild areas, star jasmine can be grown outdoors in well-drained, fertile soil, against a sunny sheltered wall. In areas with very cold winters (below -10°C/14°F) it is best grown as a conservatory plant.Water regularly from spring to autumn and apply a general-purpose fertilizer in spring.
Prune in spring if necessary to remove damaged or overcrowded stems and to keep to the desired size.
How you will receive your plants:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant out.
Can’t plant straight away?
Place in a sheltered spot and water regularly to keep the compost moist.
Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and 3 times as wide as the plant’s rootball. If your soil is heavy mix in a soil improver before backfilling. Firm the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
Water shrubs regularly in the first year after planting and in dry periods
