This shrub is favoured for it glorious flower heads. Pink Winky features huge and dense, cone shaped flower heads which grow up to 12 inches across (30cm). Produced on strong dark red stems.
The florets open lime green through the mid-summer and turn white before quickly becoming a deep pink as the season progresses. The spicy scented blossoms stand out well against the yellow-green leaves.
This variety is strong, easy caring and long-lived, it is perfect for creating a flowery show-worthy feature in any garden. The panicles can be cut for fresh flower arrangements or left on the plant where they will last into the winter.
Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows fast with an upright, spreading habit up to 6-8ft tall and 8-10ft wide.
Will grow well in both sunny and shady spots, it grows best in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil and is tolerant to the summer heat.
Pruning is best carried out in late winter or early spring.
