Harvest
Unwins Organic Basil Loki Seeds produce a Genovese-type basil. Well-branched and with good mildew resistance, this is a fantastic variety to grow in pots for a plentiful supply of basil leaves for your cooking with fantastic flavour.
This half hardy annual can be sown at any time of the year, but the ideal time is between February and July.
Complementing tomato dishes, enjoy Unwins Organic Basil Loki with pizza, pasta or pesto! It is also a great for salads.
Sowing IndoorsSeeds can be sown at any time of year, but the optimum time is between February and July. Sow in 8cm pots of firm, pre-watered compost, covering with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite. Cover with cling film and keep around 15°C. When the seedlings emerge, remove the cling film and keep on a sunny windowsill. Water regularly to keep the compost damp, but not wet.
Planting OutPlants can be moved outside in late spring and summer, acclimatising them gradually. If growing in containers, choose a pot at least 20cm in diameter.
AftercareHarvest the tips regularly and remove any flowers as you see them. Avoid leaving plants wet overnight- morning watering is ideal.
