Rose Zepherine Drouhin is a carmine-pink climbing rose, with vigorous thornless stems. Being thornless makes Rose Zepherine Drouhin perfect for growing on arches, walls and pergolas; especially near paths and seating areas where thorny growth might be a nuisance.
Zephirine Drouhin is a highly scented climbing rose. It is a climbing Bourbon rose; first recorded in 1868 and the raspberry-scented, non-fading flowers and thornless stems have been popular ever since.
Combine climbing roses with clematis and honeysuckle for a sensational perfumed display.
Unlike many roses; Zephirine Drouhin will tolerate shade and it is tolerant of poor soil.
Plant roses into good garden soil that has been well dug and weeded; improve poor soil with compost.
Dig a hole wide enough to take the roots of the rose without cramping. Position the rose centrally in the planting hole with the bump on the stem (the graft union) level with the soil surface.
Back fill with soil to cover the rose’s roots, firm in gently and water well.
Your bare root roses will be delivered at the right time for planting, normally between autumn and early spring, depending on weather conditions. Unpack them immediately and plant as soon as possible after delivery.
Your bare root roses will be sent out with full planting and care instructions.
Prune roses to shape in spring.
Deadhead spent flowers as they fade to prolong the display.
Tie climbing roses in to strong supports to prevent wind damage
