The Westland Peat Free Multi-Planter Medium is an innovative, versatile growing system designed to make planting easier in any space. Its clever three-way orientation allows you to position the planter to match the ideal rooting depth for your chosen crops, giving vegetables and salad plants more room to grow without the need for raised beds or fixed installations. Whether used on patios, balconies or allotments, it offers a simple and effective way to create a productive growing area wherever you need it.
The nutrient rich, peat free formulation supports strong, healthy plants and is enriched with magnesium and a 6 week feed to maintain vigorous growth. The superior water holding capacity ensures plants receive consistent moisture, while the added wetting agent helps water move evenly throughout the compost for better hydration and easier rewetting. Designed for convenience and performance, the Multi-Planter makes it easy to grow your own crops with confidence, even in smaller outdoor spaces.
How To Use
Before you start Shake and gently squeeze the planter to loosen the compost. Position it in the orientation that best suits your crop:
Prepare the planter Make several drainage holes on the underside of the planter. Cut along the guide lines on top to create the planting opening.
Loosen the compost Remove enough compost to create a planting hole for the root ball. Break up the remaining compost inside the planter using gloved hands or a hand fork so it becomes light and airy again.
Start planting Place the plant into the hole and refill with the reworked compost. Firm gently and water well.
For potatoes Remove half the compost and loosen what remains. Add chitted seed potatoes, then replace 15 to 20 cm of the removed compost. Position the planter in a sheltered spot against a wall or shed.
For climbing crops For tomatoes, peas and beans, insert supports before planting to avoid disturbing the roots later.
Watering Keep the compost consistently moist. During warm or dry weather, daily watering may be required.
