Allium ‘Purple Rain’ looks spectacular at the back of a summer border, with its huge round airy flowerheads, measuring up to 15cm across and looking like vibrant sparklers held on tall strong stems. The rich purple flowers are a magnet for bees and other pollinators. They cope well with all weather conditions, and the dried flowerheads keep on looking good for months after the flowers have faded.

This stunning allium makes a fabulous cut flower and is also fantastic for dried flower arrangements. Planting it at the back of a border adds height and interest to planting schemes, and also helps to conceal the allium leaves as they die back before the flowers appear.
