Harvest
A cross between a mandarin orange and a kumquat, Citrus ‘Calamondin’ makes a beautiful plant for a sunny patio or conservatory, producing fragrant white flowers followed by round yellow fruits which taste as good as they look, set off against glossy green leaves. The main harvest is between July and October, but the tree will keep on producing flowers and fruits sporadically all year round. The fruits have a thin skin with a sweet flavour that contrasts deliciously with the tart, acidic flesh. Enjoy them whole or use them in drinks and cooking.
How you will receive your plants:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your plant in a pot, ready to plant out.
Can’t plant straight away?
Place the pot in a sheltered spot and water regularly to keep the soil moist.
Planting tips and hints:
Planting in containers:
Choose a pot with good drainage holes. Place stones or crocks (bits of broken pottery) at the bottom of the pot to stop the drainage holes clogging up. Use a good quality loam-based compost like John Innes no 2 and mix in up to 20% sharp sand or grit.
Feeding and aftercare:
Feed in spring and summer with a specialised high nitrogen citrus feed and in winter with a balanced citrus feed. Move to a frost-free environment in winter, but avoid rooms with central heating as the atmosphere will be too dry for citrus. Water sparingly in winter. Use rainwater rather than tap water when watering, especially in areas with very hard water

Guide To Plant Sizes
7cm-10L Potted Shrubs
Trees, shrubs, perennials and climbers come in a range of pot sizes. Available through the year, they will be sent to you well packed for plant protection during transit. The appearance of your plant will vary depending on the season in which they are purchased. As a rule of thumb, the larger the pot, the larger the plant growth. Each increase in pot size means roughly another year’s growth for better instant impact.
Bare Root
Several of our plants come supplied as bare roots. Despite appearances, they are alive and well. They have been previously grown in the ground and lifted when dormant throughout the winter months, so that when you receive them they are strong, full of energy and ready to be planted out. This is our most economical way to buy many plant varieties including roses, strawberries, trees and bushes. Soak well prior to planting in their final position.
