When to Use: Sow when soil temperatures are between 7°C and 18°C. Germination may be delayed if temperatures fall below 6°C, so it's best to wait until conditions improve.

How to Use:

Best Conditions: For optimal results, sow when soil temperatures are consistently between 10°C and 18°C. Fast Start seed begins germinating from 7°C, but cooler or warmer extremes may slow the process.

Preparation: Clear the area of weeds and debris before sowing to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.

Sowing:

• Water the soil the day before sowing, especially during dry spells.
• Shake the box to mix the seed evenly.
• Use the built-in side applicator:
• New Lawns or Patch Repair: 40g/m²
• Revitalising Existing Lawns: 30g/m²
• Refer to our guide for specific lawn spreader settings.
• Lightly rake the surface to mix in the seed, then press it down by walking over the area or using a roller.

Watering: After sowing, water thoroughly with a fine-rose watering can or sprinkler. Keep the soil consistently moist, watering daily if needed until germination occurs.

Aftercare:

• Mow when grass reaches 5–8cm (2–3 inches) tall.
• Gradually reduce the cutting height to around 2.5cm (1 inch), avoiding cutting more than one-third of the height at once.
• After two cuts, apply a lawn feed such as Westland SafeLawn, Aftercut Ultra Green, or Aftercut Lawn Thickener.

Using the Lawn Drop Spreader:

Before Use: Set the adjustable lever to zero before filling with product.

Avoid Spillage: Fill the spreader off the lawn using newspaper or plastic sheeting to catch any spills.

Setting the Spreader: Adjust the calibration lever to the recommended setting. Start walking as soon as the spreader is engaged to ensure even distribution.

Application Tips:

• Begin by treating two-thirds of the lawn edges to make turning easier around borders and fences.
• Apply in straight lines with a slight overlap to avoid missed areas.

Watering: If there’s no rainfall within 48 hours of application, water the area thoroughly.

Safety: Children and pets can use the lawn once it has been fully watered in.
