This British-bred mangetout variety is so attractive with its bicoloured flowers and purple pods, sweet enough to eat raw. The colour fades when steamed but the peas keep more of their colour when quickly stir-fried.
Resistant to powdery mildew and tolerant to downy mildew Shiraz gives you peace of mind that you will be rewarded with big harvests of peas that are blemish-free.
Add to your vegetable plot not only to give you big crops but a welcome splash of colour from the flowers and peas. Shiraz is the variety seen in the top-end ranges in the supermarkets - now its available for you to grow from seed.
Mangetout Shiraz will naturally improve the nutrient levels too in your soil with their roots that fix nitrogen from the air into a form of nitrogen the plants can take up themselves.
