Poppies are so easy to grow, fat green buds open to reveal crumpled petals which resemble fine tissue paper once opened. This is a lovely mix of both soft and strong colours, bi-colours and picotees.

Shirley poppies are superb in cottage gardens and other informal settings and you can expect a flurry of activity from the bee population too!

How to grow

Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
