Flowering
Begonia Illumination Apricot Shades brings a rich, glowing display to any outdoor space with its elegant double and single blooms in warm apricot, amber and soft lemon tones. These impressively large, cascading flowers trail beautifully over the edges of baskets and window boxes, creating a full, luxurious effect that lasts all season. Ideal for adding colour to walls, patios and shaded corners, this mix is known for its reliability, strong growth and long-lasting performance.
Place in a sunny or lightly shaded position to enjoy the best colour and flower production. Illumination Apricot Shades thrives in moist, well-drained compost and is suitable for both full sun and part shade. Water daily during hot weather and apply a regular liquid feed to encourage vigorous growth and an abundance of blooms from early summer right through to autumn.
How To Grow
Planting in Containers
Plant approximately 6-10 plants per 30cm container. Sprinkle a layer of stone or gravel at the bottom of the container to aid drainage. Use a high-quality young plant or general-purpose compost, spacing plants evenly to allow room for growth. Mix in a slow-release granular fertilizer before placing the plants to provide nutrients. Water thoroughly after planting and continue to water every 1-3 days depending on rainfall, ensuring the container doesn’t dry out.
Planting in the Ground
Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and three times as wide as the plant. If your soil is heavy, mix in general-purpose compost, horticultural sand, and potting grit to improve drainage. Gently compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
Feeding and Aftercare
Use a liquid feed high in potash to nourish the roots directly. Keep plants well-watered during dry summer months, which may require daily watering depending on rainfall.
Planting and flowering months below are subject to seasonal weather conditions.
