- Unique allium variety
- Mohican flowers brings in beneficial pollinators
- Tall and confident
You receive 6 bulbs of rare allium Red Mohican tall bulbs that reveal claret-red spheres of white-tipped flowers. Every sphere is topped with a rare crest of flowers like mohicans, attractive and confident on tall, proud stems.
Allium Red Mohican is easy to plant in the autumn having large bulbs that are easy to handle. When the flowers erupt from attractive full buds in May, bees and other beneficial pollinators pay a visit bringing life to your outdoor space and pollinating nearby fruit crops.
The flowers look impressive in a sunny wall-side border. Dot the bulbs of allium ‘Red Mohican’ around a herbaceous bed to bridge the gap between spring-flowering and summer-flowering bulbs. They look impressive in their own right but we like to partner them by tall blue camassias and crown fritillaries.
If growing in containers we recommend you plant 12 bulbs for every 30cm (12in) pot and plant in a free-draining Bulb Compost where the bulbs overwinter before erupting into flower in mid-spring.
