- Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit
- Happy in north-facing sites
- Great for kitchen gardens
Traditional acid cherry variety whose fruit comes into its own in the kitchen. It's a favourite for reducing as jam, using for cherry pies or cherry crumble.
Crown Morello reaches a height of about 2m (6 1/2 ft) so it's easy to harvest from healthy trees with fruit within reach.
Flowering in April, you are rewarded with a tree of attractive spring blossom that brings in important pollinating insects.
We recommend that you prune lots of fruited stems in September, down to a leafy side-shoot as fruit appears on acid cherries like Crown Morello on the stems of those leafy side-shoots next year.
Rootstock: Colt
Flowering Group: FG4
Years until fruiting from planting: 2-4
Age of tree at despatch: 2
Height at full growth: 3m/10ft
Most of our trees are delivered as bare rooted specimens with approximate height of: 3.5ft - 5ft / 105cm - 140cm depending on the variety.
In order to ensure a good pollination pick fruit trees from within the same or from adjacent flowering groups.
We may prune your tree before it arrives to your door. We do this to encourage your tree to branch freely which makes them better looking and more productive.
