Fast-growing Coreopsis ‘Be-Bop’ flowers for months in summer, smothered in gloriously sunny yellow flowers. This compact, bushy perennial is perfect for containers or the front of a border. The colourful flowers are also ideal for cutting.

Sow indoors

Sow in trays of pre-watered seed compost and cover lightly with a little soil or vermiculite. Keep at 20-25°C and allow 3-4 weeks for germination. Do not exclude light.

Grow on

When large enough to handle transplant into trays of potting compost 5cm apart, or individually into 8cm pots.

Plant out

Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow approximately 35cm between plants. Coreopsis thrive best in full sun. In the garden, plant in any well-drained soil. Use a good quality potting compost if planting in containers. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.

How to grow

Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
