Dwarf iris ‘Cantab’ might be small (just 10cm high) but it makes a big impact early in the year, flowering in late winter and early spring long before most other spring bulbs have appeared. The beautiful sky-blue flowers have darker blue falls splashed with white around an orange tongue, and look simply sensational planted in drifts in lawns or beds. This diminutive bulb is ideal for gravel gardens and rockeries, and it’s also perfect for pots and window boxes, adding a splash of colour to even the smallest garden space.

Iris ‘Cantab’ loves well drained soil and plenty of sun, and in the right spot will naturalise and spread, coming back year after year to herald the start of spring.
