Sowing Indoors Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost and sow the seeds thinly over the surface. Lightly cover with a thin layer of compost and place in a warm position at 15-20°C. Keep the compost consistently moist throughout the growing process. Germination can take up to 3 weeks, so be patient and maintain even moisture levels.

Sow seeds thinly in a prepared seed bed, 5mm deep, in well-watered soil. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 5cm apart. From late summer, transplant them into their final growing position, spacing plants 15cm apart to allow room for healthy growth and flowering.

Unwins Pansy Swiss Giant Mixture thrives in a full sun position, where it will produce an abundance of large, colourful blooms throughout its long flowering season.

Keep seedlings in a bright, well-lit position, protected from strong direct sunlight. Once they are large enough to handle, transplant them into trays of potting compost, spacing them 5cm apart, or pot them on individually into 8cm pots to continue growing.

Choose a spot with fertile, well-drained soil and provide regular watering during dry periods. With their compact habit and long-lasting flowers, Swiss Giant Pansies are perfect for adding vibrant colour to both garden beds and container displays.

Water regularly to keep the compost moist but not waterlogged, and continue growing plants on in a bright location. As they develop, ensure they have adequate space and airflow to encourage healthy growth.

Once established, deadhead spent flowers regularly to promote continuous blooming and keep displays looking their best. With the right care, Swiss Giant Pansies will reward you with masses of colourful flowers over a long flowering season, making them a superb choice for pots, containers and borders.

You can expect Unwins Pansy Swiss Giant Mixture to flower from April to October, depending on when the seeds are sown.
