Garden Ready Plants:
Garden Ready Plants can be planted straight into their final position. If you can't plant them immediately, keep them in a bright, sheltered spot and make sure they don't dry out.

Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Water the plants before planting if the rootballs feel dry, then plant at the same depth they were growing in their tray. Gently firm the soil or compost around the roots and water thoroughly.

When planting in autumn, keep plants watered while they establish if conditions are dry. Once settled in, they'll develop into established perennial plants that can return and flower again in future seasons.

'Everlast Clotted Cream' is a compact perennial that's easy to find a place for, whether you're creating an autumn display or adding long-term colour to a border.

Pots and containers:
Its neat growth and creamy flowers make it particularly attractive in patio pots and containers. Plant several together for a simple block of colour or combine with other seasonal plants for a mixed display.

Beds and borders:
Plant towards the front of beds and borders where the low-growing flowers won't be hidden by taller plants. It's particularly useful for filling gaps between established perennials and shrubs.

Partial shade:
Primroses are a good choice for bringing colour to areas that receive some shade, including the lighter edges of trees and shrubs.

Top tip:
Choose somewhere you can see the flowers regularly. Their pale creamy colour is particularly effective for brightening darker corners and areas of partial shade.

The soft creamy flowers of 'Everlast Clotted Cream' make it particularly easy to combine with other autumn and spring favourites.

Pair it with rich purple or blue pansies and violas for contrast, or keep the display softer with pinks, whites and other pastel shades. Bellis can add a different flower shape, while wallflowers bring extra height and fragrance.

Spring-flowering bulbs such as crocuses, muscari, dwarf daffodils and compact tulips can be planted amongst your primroses in autumn. They'll emerge through the display in spring, adding another layer of flowers as the season progresses.

Top tip:
Cream works with almost anything, but deeper purples and blues make the pale flowers really stand out and give autumn and spring containers a simple, coordinated look.

Keep plants watered during dry spells, particularly those growing in pots and containers, but avoid leaving the soil or compost waterlogged.

Remove faded flowers by following the flower stem down towards the base of the plant and pinching or snipping it off. This keeps plants looking tidy and encourages them to put their energy into producing more flowers rather than developing seed.

Remove yellowing or damaged leaves as you find them to keep the foliage tidy and maintain good airflow around the plant.

Flowering may slow during periods of particularly cold winter weather. Continue caring for the plants and flowering will pick up again when conditions become more favourable.

Plants growing in containers can be given a liquid feed while actively growing and flowering, following the instructions on your chosen feed.

Top tip:
Regular deadheading is especially worthwhile with a long-flowering primrose like 'Everlast Clotted Cream', helping keep the display fresh and encouraging further blooms.
