Where to Plant
Choose a sunny position with fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Good air circulation will help keep plants healthy. Growing to around 80cm tall, 'Art Deco' is a useful size for beds, borders and large containers.

Planting Bare-Root Roses
Bare-root roses are best planted while dormant, generally from November to March. Unpack your rose promptly and soak the roots in a bucket of water for a couple of hours before planting. Dig a generous hole, spread the roots out naturally and position the rose so the graft union sits level with the soil surface. Backfill, firm gently and water well.

Planting Potted Roses
Potted roses can be planted throughout much of the year when conditions are suitable. Water well before planting and dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball. Remove the rose from its pot, gently loosen any tightly packed roots and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Backfill, gently firm and water thoroughly.

Watering
Water regularly during the first growing season while your rose establishes, particularly during warm, dry weather. Roses planted from pots during the growing season may need more frequent watering at first.

Feeding & Mulching
Feed with a suitable rose fertiliser in spring as new growth begins and again in summer to support continued flowering. Mulch with well-rotted garden compost or organic matter to help retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping the mulch clear of the stems.

Beds & Borders
At around 80cm tall, 'Art Deco' works particularly well through the middle of a border, where its clusters of white and pink flowers have enough height to make an impact without overwhelming surrounding plants.

Rose Beds
Plant several together for a stronger display of clustered flowers. Its compact Floribunda habit makes it easy to repeat through a dedicated rose bed or mixed planting scheme.

Large Containers
'Art Deco' is also suitable for a large patio container. Choose a generous pot with good drainage and keep on top of watering and feeding during the growing season.

Make the Most of the Colour
A sunny position really shows off the unusual colouring, with the pink flush around the edges of the white petals becoming stronger as light levels increase.

Pruning
Prune Floribunda roses in late winter or early spring. Start by removing dead, damaged or weak stems, then cut back healthy growth to encourage fresh shoots and maintain a neat, open shape.

Deadheading
Remove faded flower clusters through the season to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage further flushes of flowers.

Summer Care
Water during prolonged dry spells and feed again in summer to support repeat flowering. Container-grown roses will need more regular watering and feeding throughout the growing season.

Winter & Spring Care
'Art Deco' will naturally lose its leaves as it enters winter dormancy. Prune in late winter or early spring, then feed and mulch as fresh growth gets underway.

Bring Out the Pink
The white and pink flowers of 'Art Deco' work beautifully with pinks, mauves, blues and purples. Try hardy geraniums, salvias and nepeta around the roses to pick up the softer tones in the flowers.

Add Different Flower Shapes
Mix the rounded clusters of Floribunda roses with upright flower spikes from salvias, veronicas and penstemons to add height and contrast through the border.

Add Spring Colour
Spring bulbs provide an earlier display before the roses begin flowering. Alliums are particularly useful for carrying colour from late spring towards the start of the rose season.

Plant in Layers
Use lower-growing perennials towards the front of the border, Floribunda roses through the middle and taller perennials or shrubs behind, giving each layer enough room to be seen.

Bare-Root Roses
Bare-root roses are supplied dormant without a pot or compost around their roots. They will usually arrive with woody stems and exposed roots, with little or no foliage. This is completely normal and they will begin producing fresh growth as temperatures rise.

Potted Roses
Potted roses are supplied established in compost. Plants may be pruned before despatch to encourage a strong, open framework, and their appearance will naturally vary with the season. They may arrive with fresh growth, leaves or flowers during the growing season and with much less growth during colder months.

If You Can't Plant Straight Away
Keep bare-root roses cool with their roots moist and protected from drying out, and plant as soon as possible. Potted roses can be kept in a sheltered outdoor position until you're ready to plant; check them regularly and water as needed to keep the compost moist.

What to Expect After Planting
Your rose won't arrive looking like a mature plant. Once established, it will gradually fill out, producing fresh stems and increasingly generous displays of flowers as it matures.
