Some varieties have an extra helping hand too, such as pre-spaced seed tape, compact plants, disease resistance or other useful growing traits. So you can spend less time worrying about getting everything right and more time enjoying what you've grown.

For sowing indoors, Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost and sow the seeds approximately 5mm deep. Lightly cover with a thin layer of compost, then place the tray in a warm position at 15-20°C. Keep the compost consistently moist while the seeds germinate.

For sowing outdoors, seeds can also be sown directly outdoors once the soil has warmed. Sow thinly and lightly cover with a little soil, then keep the soil moist until seedlings emerge. Once established, thin seedlings to approximately 25cm apart to give plants plenty of room to grow. Any seedlings removed during thinning can be carefully transplanted to other areas of the garden.

With warmth, moisture and plenty of light, Zinnia 'Benary's Giant' will quickly establish and develop into strong plants ready to produce an abundance of spectacular, colourful blooms.

Keep young Zinnia 'Benary's Giant' seedlings in a bright position, but protect them from direct sunlight while they establish. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into trays filled with potting compost to continue growing on.

Before planting outdoors, gradually acclimatise the plants to outside conditions over 2 to 3 weeks. From early summer onwards, once the weather is warm and settled, plant them in their final growing position, spacing plants approximately 25cm apart to allow plenty of room for healthy growth and flowering.

For the best results, grow 'Benary's Giant' in a full sun position in beds, borders, cottage gardens or cutting gardens. The tall, upright plants thrive in sunny conditions, where they will produce an abundance of large, colourful blooms on strong stems throughout the summer.

Zinnia 'Benary's Giant' is easy to care for and will reward you with a long-lasting display of colourful blooms throughout the summer. Water plants regularly, especially during warm, dry spells, to keep them healthy and flowering well.

Feed plants regularly with a liquid plant food once they are actively growing to encourage strong stems and an abundance of large, fully double flowers. To extend the flowering season, remove faded blooms regularly. This deadheading encourages the plant to produce more flowers, helping to keep your display looking its best for longer.

With regular watering, feeding and deadheading, 'Benary's Giant' will continue producing vibrant blooms on sturdy stems, making it an excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens and cut flower displays.

Zinnia 'Benary's Giant' flowers from July through to October, producing an abundance of large, fully double blooms in a vibrant mix of colours. Its long flowering season provides months of colour in borders and cutting gardens, making it a fantastic choice for summer and autumn displays.

To encourage continuous flowering throughout the season, regularly remove any faded blooms. This will help plants produce even more flowers, ensuring a spectacular display right up until autumn.
