How to Guide

Sow outdoors

March-August: Sow thinly, 1⁄2in (1cm) deep and in rows 8in (20cm) apart directly into harvest location. Keep soil moist at all times.

Tips

No need to thin, just pull when onions are young and slender. Sow little and often for continuous supply throughout the summer. Spring onions perform well in containers and are quick to crop. September sowings can be overwintered with a little protection.
