Planting in Containers

Plant approximately 6-10 plants per 30cm container. Sprinkle a layer of stone or gravel at the bottom of the container to aid drainage. Use a high-quality young plant or general-purpose compost, spacing plants evenly to allow room for growth. Mix in a slow-release granular fertilizer before placing the plants to provide nutrients. Water thoroughly after planting and continue to water every 1-3 days depending on rainfall, ensuring the container doesn’t dry out.

Planting in the Ground

Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and three times as wide as the plant. If your soil is heavy, mix in general-purpose compost, horticultural sand, and potting grit to improve drainage. Gently compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.

Feeding and Aftercare

Use a liquid feed high in potash to nourish the roots directly. Keep plants well-watered during dry summer months, which may require daily watering depending on rainfall.

Grown in peat-free compost, these are ready to plant out on arrival. Each tray contains 12 cells of multi-sown seedlings with over 40 plants in total. These can be split up; however, we advise planting each plug as it comes. Sown at our nursery, your plants have been pruned to encourage new growth, producing extra shoots for more flowers.
