Each of the 12 modules contains multiple seedlings, grown in peat-free compost and carefully trimmed to encourage strong, healthy growth and maximum flower power throughout the season.

With over 100 years of Unwins heritage and ongoing partnerships with global breeders, we select only the best sweet pea varieties. You can rely on this mix to perform beautifully in your garden and in floral arrangements.

How To Grow

Planting in Containers

Plant approximately 6-10 plants per 30cm container. Sprinkle a layer of stone or gravel at the bottom of the container to aid drainage. Use a high-quality young plant or general-purpose compost, spacing plants evenly to allow room for growth. Mix in a slow-release granular fertilizer before placing the plants to provide nutrients. Water thoroughly after planting and continue to water every 1-3 days depending on rainfall, ensuring the container doesn’t dry out.

Planting in the Ground

Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and three times as wide as the plant. If your soil is heavy, mix in general-purpose compost, horticultural sand, and potting grit to improve drainage. Gently compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.

Feeding and Aftercare

Use a liquid feed high in potash to nourish the roots directly. Keep plants well-watered during dry summer months, which may require daily watering depending on rainfall.

Guide To Plant Sizes

Garden Ready Sweet Peas

Grown in peat-free compost, these are ready to plant out on arrival. Each tray contains 12 cells of multi-sown seedlings with over 40 plants in total. These can be split up; however, we advise planting each plug as it comes. Sown at our nursery, your plants have been pruned to encourage new growth, producing extra shoots for more flowers.
