Sow Outdoors
This superb blend of top-quality sweet peas has been specially selected by our expert team at Unwins. Fill your garden with the vibrant colours and heady fragrance of these sensational blooms. The large, wavy-edged flowers on long stems create stunning colour combinations and make fantastic cut flowers.
Sow indoors
Almost fill 12cm (5in) pots with seed & cutting compost. Sow five seeds, evenly spaced, per pot and lightly cover with a little more compost. Water well after sowing, but not again until seedlings have emerged. Place in warmth 10-15°C (50-60°F).
Grow on
Sow outdoors
Sow seeds in pre-watered, warm soil 2cm (1in) deep, 10cm (4in) apart. Keep soil moist until seedlings emerge.
Plant out
Plant out 20cm (8in) apart from March onwards in a sunny position.
Aftercare
Support young plants with canes, netting or trellis to about 1.8m (6ft).
Tips
Feed and water plants regularly, pick flowers often to ensure continuous supply. September – October sowings produce the most vigorous and earliest flowering plants. Seedlings are best overwintered in a cold frame or under cloches.
How to grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
