Harvest
Chard ‘Bright Yellow’ is an award-winning variety with large green leaves and golden yellow stems. A colourful addition to any vegetable garden. The leaves make a good alternative to spinach, and the stems are delicious chopped and steamed.
Chard ‘Bright Yellow’ overwinters well, producing a second harvest in early spring. A holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Sow outdoors
March-July: Sow seeds thinly directly in harvest location 1.25cm (1?2in) deep in rows 40cm (16in) apart. Keep soil moist at all times. Thin to 15cm (6in) apart.
Tips
Use thinnings as salad leaf. Plants will continue cropping in all but the worst weather especially if given some winter protection.
