For sowing indoors, fill a seed tray almost to the top with moist seed compost, then sow the seeds thinly across the surface. Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of compost and place the tray in a warm location at 15-20°C. Keep the compost consistently moist while the seeds germinate.

Seeds can also be sown directly outdoors once the soil has warmed. Sow thinly and lightly cover with a fine layer of soil, then keep the soil consistently moist while the seedlings are emerging. Once established, thin plants to a spacing of 15-20cm apart. Any seedlings removed during thinning can be carefully transplanted to other areas of the garden to create additional displays.

Avoid exposing seeds to higher temperatures, as excessive heat can reduce germination success. Once seedlings begin to emerge, continue growing them in a bright location, ready for transplanting when large enough to handle.
