How you will receive your bulbs:

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your bulbs in a breathable mesh bag. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack that is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

Keep your bulbs in a cool, light, and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Ideally, you should aim to plant your bulbs within a week of receiving them, but if this is not possible, store them in a cool, dark place until you are ready to plant them.

Planting tips and hints:

Planting in the ground: Plant outdoors in spring after the frosts have passed. Before planting, enrich the soil by digging in well-rotted farmyard manure or garden compost. Separate out the bare root plants and soak them in water for half an hour before planting to rehydrate them. Plant with the shoots just above the ground, spaced around 20cm (8in) apart. Water well after planting.

Planting in containers:If the soil is very cold and wet, start the plants off indoors in pots filled with multi-purpose compost. Separate out the plants and soak them in water for half an hour before planting to rehydrate them. Plant with the shoots just above the surface of the compost. Water after planting and place the container in a frost-free place until it is warm enough to plant them outside.

Feeding and aftercare: Mulch with garden compost in autumn and divide congested clumps.
