This top-quality mid-season variety produces heavy crops of large red berries in mid-June, held well above the ground, with a second crop often appearing in September. The berries are glossy red and deliciously sweet, perfect for desserts, tarts and preserves.

Strawberry ‘Red Gauntlet’ has good resistance to grey mould.

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant out.

Place in a sheltered spot and water regularly to keep the compost moist

Planting in containers: Plant in containers filled with multi-purpose compost, with the crown (where the leaves start to appear) at soil level. Water after planting

Planting in the ground: Plant in full sun in soil that has been enriched with well-rotted farmyard manure or garden compost. Ensure that the crown of the plant (where the leaves start to appear) is at soil level. Water after planting.
