Flowering
This fantastic mix of cottage garden wildflowers fills borders with a tapestry of colour from late spring to early autumn. Specially chosen to attract butterflies, the bright flowers will bring a host of other pollinators to your garden too!
Sow indoors
For earlier flowering sturdier plants, sow in trays of moist seed compost from February to April in gently warmth 10-15 degrees celcius (50-60F).
Transplant 5cm (2in) apart in a tray of compost when seedlings are large enough to handle. Gradually accustom to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from April 15cm (6in) apart.
Sow outdoors
Rake soil to provide a firm even surface. Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered soil, lightly covering them with a little more soil. Sowings made in semi-circular lines create a natural ‘drift’ effect. Keep moist until seedlings appear and as required in dry spells.
Thin
When large enough to handle thin seedlings to allow their development and prevent overcrowding.
How To Grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
