How you will receive your plants:

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your plant in a pot, ready to plant out.

Can’t plant straight away?

Place the pot in a sheltered spot outdoors and water regularly to keep the soil moist.

Planting tips and hints:

Planting in the ground: Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained soil, in a sheltered position against a sunny wall. Before planting, dig in a soil improver such as well-rotted farmyard manure to improve the soil.

Planting in containers: Plant in a large container filled with a loam-based compost such as John Innes no 2 with added horticultural grit to improve drainage.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in the first year after planting and during dry periods. Campsis generally need no additional feeding unless grown in very poor soils.

Do not prune for the first 2-3 years. Tie shoots in to support wires to create a framework of branches. Once this is established, prune in winter, removing any weak growth and cutting back side shoots to within 2-3 buds of the main framework.
