- Vigorous, free-flowering, well-branched variety
- Early to start blooming
- Compact habit, ideal for the front of a sunny border, also great in pots
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with vermiculite or a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 15-20°C and keep moist. Keep in a light position but away from direct sunlight.
Growing On
When large enough to handle, transplant individual seedlings into 8cm pots. Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out once the danger of frost has passed.
Planting Out
Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Allow 30cm between plants. Alternatively, plant in a patio pot using a good quality compost. Keep well-watered, especially during warm, dry spells.
Delphiniums like a sunny, sheltered spot in fertile, well-drained soil. Water and feed well in spring and early summer. Will require staking to provide support. Remove spent flower spikes as this may encourage a second flowering later in the season. Earlier sowings will flower the same year, later sowings the following year.
Caution: Humans / Pets: Harmful if eaten.
