  • Dried seedheads attract small birds
  • Beautiful summer colour

Echinacea 'Artisan Red Ombre' looks stunning in a ‘hot’ colour-themed border in summer, with deep red daisy-like flowers that fade to rusty orange as they mature, and prominent golden-brown cones. The changing flower colours create a beautiful multi-toned effect across the plant, held on upright stems above a mound of green leaves. Butterflies and bees love the flowers, and birds come for the dried seedheads in autumn.

Echinaceas are ideal for prairie planting schemes, combining beautifully with ornamental grasses such as Calamagrostis.

Plant in well-drained, humus-rich soil in full sun. Deadhead faded flowers to prolong the flowering period, but leave a few of the last flowers to provide seedheads for birds. Cut back dead flower stems to ground level in late autumn.
