Complete The Job

  • Dessert grape
  • Bred to perform well in colder climates
  • Produces sweet white grapes with hints of pineapple.

Plant in a well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position such as against a south-facing wall.

Water regularly in dry periods.

Remove all flowers for the first two years after planting. Leave three bunches of grapes to develop in the third year and five in the fourth year. After this, allow all bunches to develop.

Apply a general purpose fertilizer in late winter, and feed dessert grapes fortnightly with a high-potassium feed from late spring until the grapes start to ripen.

Pruning: in the first and second years, cut back side branches in summer leaving 5 leaves, and cut back any shoots from these branches to 1 leaf. In winter, cut the main stem back by two-thirds and cut side branches to 1 bud.

From the third year, cut back side branches to 1-2 strong buds in winter.
