Kent & Stowe drop forged traditional anvil secateurs for strength and durability. Constructed with high quality carbon steel non-stick blades. Suitable for powerful pruning of mature hard and dead wood.
Anvil secateurs have one blade that closes onto a cutting block, making cutting hard, dead wood easier. Not suitable for live wood as it will crush and bruise the stems as well as blunding the blades.
Wiping the blades with a oiled cloth will keep the tool in a good condition.
All Kent & Stowe cutting tools come with a 5-year guarantee
How To Care For Your Secateurs
Taking care of secateurs means they will continue to perform at their peak. We recommend that you don't leave your secateurs outside when not in use. Wipe them after use, and allow them to completely dry. Store them away in a dry environment, such as your greenhouse, shed or garage. Even in dry weather conditions your tools, if left outside, are exposed to moisture from wet grass and dew.
For all wood handled tools such as these secateurs you can even apply a light coating of boiled linseed oil to help prevent the wood from drying out and cracking. If the wooden handle is very dirty, remove as much of the soil as possible. If you need to use water, gently wet the handle with a damp cloth, making sure that you don’t soak the wood, as this may cause the grain to lift and the handle to swell.
