Sowing IndoorsAlmost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and just cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 10-15°C, and keep moist. Allow 2-3 weeks for germination.
Growing OnWhen large enough to handle, transplant individually into 8cm pots.
Planting OutSlowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out when all danger of frost has passed, in a damp or wet soil in sun or part-shade, about 45cm apart.
Sowing OutdoorsSow directly into the planting position in spring or summer, in well-prepared soil, just covering lightly. Thin if required to around 45cm apart.
How to grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
