Unwins French Marigold Strawberry Blonde Seeds are a lovely combination of striking colours that will thrive in borders or on patios in a sunny spot.
These pretty ruffled flowers are gold tinged with russet pink. The flower colour changes as the flowers age, creating an incredible multicolour effect.
They are great for pots and containers for adding a splash of colour to any outdoor space.
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 10-15°C and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 25cm between plants.
Aftercare
Water regularly, especially in warm weather, feed fortnightly when flowering and remove dead flowers to prolong the display.
How to grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
