How you will receive your bulbs:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your bulbs in a breathable mesh bag. This is to keep the bulbs together in a pack that is nice and airy – perfect to keep the bulbs healthy while in transit.
Can’t plant straight away?
Keep your bulbs in a cool, light, and dry place and preferably hanging on a hook so that air can get to the bulbs at all angles. Ideally, you should aim to plant your bulbs within a week of receiving them, but if this is not possible, store them in a cool, dark place until you are ready to plant them.
Planting tips and hints:
Planting in the ground: Plant in spring, in well drained soil in a sunny spot. The majority of summer-flowering bulbs should be planted at a depth approximately 2-3 times their height, with pointed tip facing upwards. Plant nerines with tips just above ground level, and soak dahlia tubers in water overnight before planting 10cm deep.
Planting in containers: Plant in spring in pots filled with multi-purpose compost. Water in and place the pot in a sunny position.
Feeding and aftercare: Water during dry periods. Remove faded flowerstems and allow the foliage to die back naturally. Lift frost-tender bulbs in autumn and store in a frost-free place over winter.
