Description

- Nematodes complete their lifecycle within the grub and re-enter the soil seeking out more grub.
Save your crops and favourite flowers from devastating damage caused by vine weevil. This packs treats over 160 pots of young plants or a 12 square metre (square yard) flower bed. Just mix this nematode-based solution with water and apply to your pots or beds once the soil temperature is 5C (41F) or above. Vine Weevil larvae attack the systems of plant roots from late summer until the following spring.
The larvae over-winters and attacks the roots, emerging as adults in late spring to summer. Adults lay eggs in the root-balls of plants, which then hatch and feed before repeating the whole process again. By using Nemasys twice a year - in the spring and again in autumn (to control larvae resulting from eggs laid in the summer) - you can maintain healthy plants free from the damaging larvae.
Please note that the soil temperature in the garden for the most effective results should be 5ºC (40ºF) or higher and moist. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd sporadic frost and will become more active again when the temperatures rise. To ensure proper storage please keep the nematodes refrigerated upon delivery and apply by the use by date shown on the pack. Depending on the time of year when you receive your nematodes will dictate the length of the ‘Use by Date’ upon arrival but in all instances we recommend applying to the soil as close to their arrival date as possible. If you apply your nematodes slightly after the use by date they will still be effective as long as you have kept them stored cold in the fridge
