Nicotiana 'Whisper Mix' is an elegant mix of fragrant flowers that fade from deep pink to white as they age, creating a charming multi-toned effect. These tall annuals are ideal for filling gaps in a border, growing well in sun or light shade. The scent is strongest in the evening.


All parts of nicotiana are harmful if eaten, and contact with the foliage may cause skin and eye irritation.

How To Grow

Sow indoors


February-May: Sow on the surface of trays filled with moist, free-draining seed compost. Gently firm down but do not cover the seed. Keep in a propagator in a bright location at a temperature of 20-25°C (68-75°F) until germination (14-21 days). Keep compost damp but not wet. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions.


Plant out


May-June: Once frosts are past, harden off and plant out into the permanent position, 30cm (12in) apart.
