Harvest
Grow the home-grower's favourite legume- pea Early Onward. This wrinkle-seeded variety with dark green pods packed to bursting has the most vigorous of growth.
Heavy-cropping Early Onward won't disappoint for flavoursome, fresh fat peas. Sow through spring and summer, little and often (successional sowing) and expect harvests from as early as May to as late as autumn, given a fair summer. The earliest peas will be ready for picking from 12 weeks after sowing.
With a convenient and comfortable maximum height of 60cm (24in), Early Onward is a sturdy variety that requires little support for easy-care. For gluts Early Onward freezes well for supplies through late autumn and into winter too.
We recommend you use shoots in the kitchen too for a tasty tangy addition to leafy salads.
