Harvest

Harvest
Unwins Sweet Pepper Amy Seeds are a creamy yellow colour pointed fruit that turns light red.

This variety is reliable, heavy-cropping and sturdy. These robust plants will yield a good crop of fruits that are delicious eaten raw or cooked. They are also rich in antioxidants.
  • Perfect for pots and containers

Sowing Indoors
Level fill a module seed tray firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually and cover with a thin layer of fine compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator at 18-25°C or cover tray with cling film and leave in a warm room. Keep moist.
Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When plants have 4-6 leaves transplant to 8cm pots of potting compost. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 15°C. Pinch the growing tip to encourage bushy growth.
Planting Out
Plant out into 25cm containers once roots are beginning to come through the bottom of the 8cm pot. Keep indoors in a greenhouse, on a light windowsill or sunny sheltered patio spot. Stems may require some support.
Aftercare
Water regularly and feed weekly with a liquid tomato fertiliser as fruits start to swell.

How To Grow

Add some heat to your garden with chilli and sweet pepper seeds, perfect for greenhouses, pots, or sunny borders. From fiery hot chillies to crisp, sweet peppers, there’s a variety for every taste. Start seeds early in warm conditions for the best results. As fruits develop, feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser to boost flavour and yields. Homegrown peppers are a delicious addition to any dish!

Indoor Sowing
Sow seeds early in a warm, bright spot. Coco Dots are ideal for strong root growth with the right balance of moisture and aeration. A heated propagator can help maintain warmth. Once seedlings develop two true leaves, pot on into 9cm pots of compost and grow in a bright, sheltered place. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged.

Planting Out
Harden plants off over 7–14 days before transplanting outdoors. Plant 1cm deep, spacing 30cm between plants and 30cm between rows. Mulch to retain heat and moisture.

Harvesting
Harvest peppers green for a crisp flavour or leave to ripen to red, yellow, or orange for a sweeter taste. Chillies can be picked at any stage, depending on the heat level you prefer.
