Harvest
With impressive weight, width and appearance, it’s no surprise that this pumpkin variety ticks all the boxes for British growers. It’s much loved during harvest around September and October and ideal for carving at Halloween and for tasty dishes and soups in the autumn and winter.
Pumpkin Cargo is easily grown from seeds and your package comes with 8 seeds to produce a rewarding crop of this ever-popular and eye-catching fruit. Pumpkin Cargo is actually British bred but is inspired by the traits of its well-known North American cousins. The fruit can reach an impressive weight of nearly 10kg and measure 12inches (30cm) in diameter, so the size is perfect for display purposes and for cutting up in the kitchen.
Pumpkin Cargo seeds will mature into a plant that shows good resistance to the common problems of powdery mildew in a garden bed or allotment patch. The vivid orange colour is exactly what you’d expect from a classic pumpkin and the contrast with the bright green top handle is ideal too.
Pumpkin Cargo seeds should be sown in singles that are 2cm deep in the soil in small pots, ready for planting out in warmer spring weather with spacing around 35inches (90cm) apart to allow for appropriate growth. If you’re looking for a quality British pumpkin for cooking and carving in September and through the Halloween season, then pick up this great deal for Cargo seeds.
