Squash ‘Uchiki Kuri’, also known as Onion Squash, is an excellent choice because of its familiar pumpkin appearance and superior squash flavour. The flesh is a lovely butter-colour with a texture much smoother than butternut squash. The shape is different from your average squash too, with a slightly this teardrop-shape however the colour is still that intense orange. The flavour is a lovely strong chestnut flavour. You can expect to harvest three to five small fruits about 1.5Kg each. Theses fruit are very early to mature and store extremely well.

If you believe that pumpkins and squash are only fit for Halloween lanterns, allow yourself to be converted.
