  • Strawberry ‘Christine’ (Early), 10 plants: Big red fruits with a very sweet flavour. Very disease-resistant and one of the best early strawberries.
  • Strawberry ‘Cambridge Favourite’ (Maincrop), 10 plants: A very popular and reliable variety, easy to grow and producing plenty of fruit. Great for jams, preserves and freezing.
  • Strawberry ‘Flamenco’ (Everbearing), 10 plants: One of the best everbearing strawberries, producing delicious sweet fruits from June onwards, with peak production in September.

Strawberry ‘Flamenco’ is protected by Plant Variety Rights and cannot be propagated even for own use and resold without licence.

How you will receive your plants:

Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your bare root strawberry plants from November onwards, wrapped in plastic inside a paper bag to keep the roots moist while in transit.

Can’t plant straight away?

If you can’t plant them straight away, you can store your bare root strawberry plants in the fridge in sealed bags for up to a week, but make sure the roots stay moist.

Planting tips and hints:

Before planting bare root strawberries, soak the roots in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes to rehydrate them.

Dig over the soil with a shovel to clear weeds and stones. Dig in some garden compost or well-rotted farmyard manure and rake in a general purpose fertiliser.

Plant the bare root strawberry plants spaced around 40cm apart, taking care that the point at which the roots join the plant is level with the soil surface. Firm the soil gently around them and water in. You can also plant bare root strawberries in pots filled with multipurpose compost. Once the plants start to grow in spring, water regularly in dry periods. When flowering starts, feed container-grown strawberries fortnightly with a high potash feed to promote flowers and fruit. You may need to net your strawberries before they ripen to protect them from birds. Harvest strawberries when the berries are plump and red, cutting the stems with scissors or snips.
