What is the reason for using plastic packaging on these?
These blister packs are made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic. You can recycle it via your kerbside system and they are more eco friendly than cardboard boxes.
Why is the plastic packaging more eco friendly than cardboard?
If the plastic already exists and is 100% recycled, then the benefits swing heavily in favour of plastic in year one and if you assume a 1 year life cycle of each 1kg of packaging material, then by year 10 the plastic has used almost 90% less water and over 71% less power than paper or cardboard over a 10 year period.
